The Student Activities Manul offers additional activities and exercises for BJUP's 7th grade math program. The activities help cement learning. In many cases, these are different applications of the concepts and skills learned in the lesson. This helps prepare students for upper-level math courses. The answers are not included: they are in the corresponding teacher's edition sold separately.
The program establishes the basic skills needed for a strong mathematical foundation in preparation for high school math. It strives to show how math applies to everyday life. Each chapter begins with a biographical sketch - a mathematical "motivator" - and ends with a problem-solving activity. It begins with a review of adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing whole numbers and decimals. Geometry chapters cover basic figures, angles, lines, circles, congruence, perimeter, area, and volume. Additional chapters cover: adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions; equations, sets, and integers; ratio, proportion and percent; and measurement.
