This reader is the main "text" for this health program. It is a full-color reader filled with illustrations, photographs, additional text, and comprehension questions.
The focus of this level is teaching students how to be healthy inside and out. The major themes are building relationships, choosing healthy lifestyles, reviewing body systems, diseases, and understanding what is unique about each person.
The entire curriculum program (available separately) includes a Student Workbook and a Teacher's Guide. The answers are in the Teacher’s Guide.The program is designed to be taught 2 to 3 days per week.
Topics that may be controversial are alcoholism, sexually transmitted diseases, HIV, chemical dependency, steroids, and eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia. However, all of these topics are presented from a biblical foundation.
