In thisactivity book, students examine the human body and systems through fun activities, experiments, investigations, and observations. Many of the activity pages can be used for assessment purposes. Diagrams are included for each body system.
Topics covered are: systems of the human body, skeletal system, muscular system, digestive system, respiratory system, circulatory system, excretory system, endocrine system, nervous system, five senses, health and nutrition, and fun extension activities. Answers included in the back of the book.
This is a supplemental resource. It uses the "investigative teaching approach" where only a little information is given. Students work through the exercises first as a sort of "pre-test" to see what they already know, and then are instructed to research or investigate what they don't know through the Internet, encyclopedias, and other reference materials The idea is that students need to also learn how to learn, rather than just parroting back information they read.
