This Consumers Math program covers the key skills in math life skills for junior and senior high students (identified in the NCTE standards) while using a 4th to 5th grade reading level. It provides: step-by-step lessons to strengthen money management skills; explains how to spend wisely and create a balanced budget; demystifies concepts such as getting a loan and establishing good credit; and teaches crucial life skills such as buying insurance, banking, and filing a tax return.
The heart of the program is the Student Text that breaks lessons down into incremental skills and includes short exercises to reinforce the concept taught. A Teacher's Guide, Student Workbook, and Test Packet are each sold separately. The answers to the student text are in the Teacher's Guide.
