This is the teacher's guide for Walch's basic world geography program. It provides an overview of each unit, extension activities, glossary, record-keeping forms, answers for the questions in the text, and a graphic organizer for instruction purposes.
The Power Basics program reviews and reinforces fundamental skills. This resource covers the key skills in geography for junior and senior high students (identified in the NCTE standards) while using a 4th to 5th grade reading level. It provides: an overview of current world boundaries; helps students visualize other parts of the world with easy-to-read, detailed maps; explains how boundaries change as new nations are formed; and gives students an appreciation for other cultures through country profiles grouped by continent.
